Test the callback's browser binding instead of asserting it in a comment
handleCallback mints a session on a GET. The comment says that is safe
because the keymail return is bound to the browser that began the flow
by the __Host- pending cookie plus state. That claim had no test.
Checked at source first: openPending("") finds no dot and returns
ErrPendingInvalid before any network call, so an attacker holding a code
and a state but no cookie cannot reach the exchange at all. The blob is
HMAC'd under Flow.Key, so it cannot be forged; and state must match the
one sealed inside it. Three independent bindings.
Now tested rather than reasoned about: four shapes of cookie-less
callback mint nothing and create no session row, and a well-formed
pending blob with a bad MAC does the same. Both assert the redirect to
/signin?force=1, which is also what proves the handler ran rather than
the route being unreachable — and that a failed round trip is a detour
back to the magic link, not a dead end.
Also asserts a failed callback sends no mail: it must not be a way to
make the home send anything to an address the caller named.

Attributed to this commit: 508 g CO₂e (49530529 tokens). This is an attribution, not a measurement — usage counted from this commit's own marker forward to the next one on step2/seal-and-secrets, never backward from it. A turn that produced more than one commit books all of its tokens to the last one, and a concurrent session on this branch can add to the same figure. Some of it was priced using the shared default rate, because no model-specific factor row exists yet for at least one model involved. The Carbon view has the repo total, which is never derived from this attribution.
