The previous P2 is closed. Open rejects inherited over-limit entries before returning a publisher. Run logs once and returns on commit-time ErrTooDeep. Restore, ValidateManifest and CopyManifest retain the same cap; the regression tests cover refusal without rewriting the manifest.

Verdict: approve the tenant-directory work for dormant merge, subject to normal CI. Keep #279 as a mandatory activation gate covering unbounded removal, directory-width memory use, and cubic restore cost. This does not approve activation.

Targeted tests could not start: the read-only sandbox prevented Go’s build-directory creation. Conclusions are based on source inspection; #279’s remote contents were not independently verified.
